Activity co-ordinator
Burlington also have their activity coordinators who keep the residents physically and mentally active throughout the day. They set out a varied activity programme which includes many group activities such as skittles, marbles, quoits, word games, baking and bingo. They also engage residents in one-to-one activities such as crossword puzzles, knitting, arts and crafts and reading. Many of the activities also cater for people with dementia and there are a lot of reminiscence activities too. A lot of the activities can be seasonal as well to celebrate different dates and times of the year. They are also responsible for booking entertainers to come to the home to entertain the residents with music, dancing, plays, animals and pantomimes
Culinary Delights
Burlington is blessed to enjoy the culinary delights of Karina Ryan and her team. Karina has been with the home since 2009. She is very much more than just a cook, she gets to know each of the home's residents, their likes and dislikes for food and any dietary requirements or preferences they may have. She really represents the ethos of the home and strives to offer the residents whatever they wish for. Whatever the residents choice is the home will do its best to cater for this. In addition, the home caters for special diets like Diabetes, vegetarian, religious diets etc. The meals are all freshly prepared each day and are wholesome and nutritionally balanced. We encourage the residents to come to the dining area every day .If the residents prefer to have their meals in the room then we offer the same service to them in their rooms.
